James Hunt is the Senior Vice President of North American Retail covering the Grocery, Military, Convenience and BevA channels, in addition to leading the global Amazon relationship and the North American commercial expansion with the pending merger of GfK for NielsenIQ. With over 20 years of professional experience in customer development, account management, supplier collaboration, strategy, and revenue management. James is a supporter of NielsenIQ’s ERGs including SERV and SABLE, in addition, he works as a mentor within and outside of NIQ supporting future leaders.
Prior to joining NielsenIQ, James led the Canadian supplier collaboration and retail engagements at Precima, which is now a NielsenIQ Company. Before joining Precima, he worked in various client leadership, retail operations, and strategy roles at PepsiCo, Mondelez, LEGO and Hallmark. James has a proven track record for working across an array of industries delivering impactful outcomes through creative solutions. His leadership style is to build capability through inclusion, engagement, and inspiration to deliver exceptional results.
Between 1994-2000, James served as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Army, where he attained the qualifications of Captain and held progressively responsible positions within Canada and on out-of-country operations. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and Economics, and received a Marketing Leadership Certificate from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Executive Education program. He is an avid snowboarder, paddleboarder and loves live music. he currently lives in Boca Raton, Florida.
