WGA Roundtable Discussions

WGA Roundtable Discussions

Tuesday, September 21st 1:30-2:30pm

WGA aims to cultivate connections between women in the independent grocery industry and create opportunities for personal and professional development. Members of WGA host roundtables on a variety of topics, identifying solutions and new ideas surrounding workplace challenges. Join us for bite sized content sessions and networking at each table.

2021 Topics:
  1. WGA Membership, hosted by Heidi Huff, IGA - Learn more about being a part of WGA and what WGA has to offer!
  2. Leadership, hosted by Stephanie Reid, Shelby Publishing - Re-thinking “Leadership” in 2021 …. Stewarding your greatest resource:  Your Team!
  3. Engaging & Retaining, hosted by Kristin Popp, Woodmans Food Market - Effectively engaging with our teams and providing opportunities for retention are both key topics for long term success.  Discuss what your company currently has in place and learn what others are doing to navigate this space in a challenging labor market.
  4. Wellness at Work, hosted by Christy Hess, Busch’s Fresh Market - One thing we have learned from the pandemic is that the struggle is real. Wellness has become front and center in our lives and those around us. How do we handle it and how do we ensure help is needed for others?
  5. Developing Your Personal Brand, hosted by LeeAnn Taylor, Adergy - Consider how to build a personal brand that accurately reflects your personal and professional identity. Discuss successful ways to best leverage your personal brand while building a community in which to share ideas and support each other. How are you building your network, both online and offline effectively?
  6. Communication and Engagement, hosted by Tammie Hetrick, Washington Food Association - Let’s talk about different effective ways to get your messaging out.  As we learn more about advocacy and protecting business, it starts with education and outreach.  How are you communicating your message?
  7. Work Life Balance, hosted by Shellie Wood, KeHE - Work life balance is a cycle not an achievement.  How does your personal life and work life intersect?   How does that intersection impact your ability to do your job, bringing your whole self to work, while balancing your own personal needs.
