Alon Balshan is the Owner and Executive Pastry Chef of Alon’s Bakery & Market, a beloved European-style bakery and gourmet market in Atlanta that he founded in 1992. An Israeli native with formal culinary training and early experience in European bakeries, Alon immigrated to the United States with a one-way ticket and $500 to his name to pursue his passion for baking and cooking.

Under his leadership, Alon’s has grown from a single neighborhood bakery into a local institution with multiple locations, known for its artisan breads, handmade pastries, gourmet sandwiches, fine cheeses, and thoughtfully curated prepared foods. Alon’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and old-world flavor has earned widespread acclaim among Atlantans and food enthusiasts alike.

Alon remains deeply involved in the daily operations—overseeing menu development, culinary innovation, and the highest standards of execution—while also sharing his talents with wholesale and catering clients across the region.
