Kara M. Maciel is founding partner of Conn Maciel Carey and Chair of the firm’s national Labor & Employment Practice Group. She focuses her practice on representing employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, with a special emphasis on the grocery industry.  Ms. Maciel has counseled NGA on labor and employment issues for over 17 years and has written comments and testified before federal agencies on behalf of NGA. 

Ms. Maciel works in all facets of labor law including advice and counsel regarding the employer’s rights under the National Labor Relations Act. She also defends employers in litigation at both the federal and state levels. 

Ms. Maciel is a popular speaker at conferences and events across the country, including the NGA Show. She lives in the Washington, DC area with her husband and two young children.
