Kristie Maurer is the Vice President & Store Director of Maurer’s Market IGA.  Currently assisting in the day to day operations of the Wisconsin Dells, WI store. 

She began her retail career in 2010 when her dad opened Fresh Madison Market on the University of Wisconsin Madison campus.  There she became addicted to the odd chaos of grocery retail.  It was at that location that she did everything from catering to human resources, eventually becoming the store director.  Kristie moved on from her store director role to assist in the opening, designing, implementing and closing of several Maurer’s Market IGA locations throughout Wisconsin.  As like with most independent retailers, Kristie can say that she has worked in all departments of her store and knows the good, the bad, and the ugly. 

Kristie learned early in her career that being an independent grocer means giving back to her community.  She is the past president and current board member of Gio’s Garden, a nonprofit located in Madison, WI.  Gio’s Garden is a nonprofit that provides respite services to children with special needs.  She is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, IN with a B.A. in political science and has an M.B.A from Indiana Wesleyan University.  Kristie is a member of N.G.A’s W.G.A and a member of the newly formed EXFL.
