Ryan is a dynamic and accomplished leader with a proven track record of success in the retail industry. He assumed the role of President and CEO of Gelson’s after 25 years with Vons and Albertsons, Ryan's focus on innovation, operational excellence, exceptional customer service and always putting the stores and customers first, has allowed for his success in SoCal and beyond. He started as a courtesy clerk in 1999 at Vons, and left Albertsons after spending three years on the national merchandising and marketing team supporting the 12 Albertsons divisions across the country.  He has demonstrated his ability to lead dynamic teams and projects, while working cross functionally across the company.

Ryan has held roles across store operations, several store support roles, and was a District Manager prior to taking on a national role, in his role with Gelson’s he is leading the team through his breadth of experience and is looking forward to building on the Company’s legacy and success.

In addition to his extensive retail experience, Education has been a part of Ryan’s Journey, He was a WAFC RMCP graduate in 2004 when he first became a store director and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Business 10 years later.  Ryan is also on the executive advisory committee for the Transformational Leadership program at University of California Riverside.

In his downtime, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife Julie and their two boys and enjoys camping, traveling, and attending sporting events.
